Te Maru is a family of Christian camps, committed to seeing lives changed forever.
We are just one part of a larger Christian Camping Project, focused on camps with an Open Brethren heritage or association. Camping continues to play a significant role in presenting the gospel to people of all ages. At camp, people encounter a message of hope and a glimpse of a future-life with Jesus, something that campers may not have previously thought possible.

As we celebrate our heritage, and all that God has done to draw people to himself through the ministry of camping over the past century here in NZ, we also journey forwards – building on all that we have achieved together these past few years to see camps thrive, and gospel impact grow for generations to come.

As we looked to the future, we wanted to gather and share all the amazing stories from our camps. Each one of our camps was started by people of vision, with the purpose of impacting this nation with the gospel. Remembering that vision and the unchanging purpose, together with the sheer grit and determination of the many people who brought these camps to life, will help provide the foundation from which to build a new future for Christian camping within our movement.
The team have spent more than a year collating the history of each camp to compile into chapters, and the book is now in the final stages of preparation. All proceeds from book sales will go to the Life Changers Camp Sponsorship Fund.
